A- List Conventions

It is time again to review conventions going on this month! There are only two going on this month I do have a personal appreciation for one in particular.

The first one this month is on Aprill 18th and it’s calling all you Anime fans! It is the Middle Tennessee Anime Convention on April 18th. If you don’t have plans/believe in Easter, this may be a good way to spend the time. The convention is open and honest about the reason they chose Easter weekend. The event leaders decided this in order for the cheapest rates all around. It can also be a good place to scout out vendors for the Ren Fair happening next month! This convention last three days beginning Friday and ends on Sunday, and weekend pass is $80. It is a huge event spreading throughout two hotels. This is an annual event so if you like it then you can go again next year.

The website encourages hotel bookings now, if not sooner. If you are a local then you can find then at the Sheraton Music City hotel or the Embassy Suites in Nashville. The festival will have multiple guest speakers such as Robert McCollum, Lauren Landa, Alexis Tipton, and Natalie Van Sistine. These amazing people are all voice actors for multiple anime shows.

The next event is the lovely Gallatin Square Festival on Apil 26th. It is free to attend but you will mostly likely find things you love! This festival has over 230 vendors every year and is commonly called ‘Square Fest’. It only runs from 10am-6pm so get in early for first pick. You will find everything from food to home decor.

This is a completely outdoor festival so make sure you need have your sunscreen! If you are going to attend I’d be prepared for lots of walking and a hot sun. The downtown Gallatin area also has an amazing milkshake place if you need a sweet treat. Swaney Swifts isn’t know simply for this milkshakes but they change them out so regularly, you may need to stop by!
