When considering summer and spring you may instantly think of Goddess Persephone or Aphrodite...but what about Demeter, Hermes, and Poseidon? These Gods and deities are not as lesser known but are not always the first when considered summer and spring time. You may find their help in multiple ways this summer season, and we hope to provide any that may apply.

To understand why we have summer, we should look at the three Gods who may have caused it. Goddess Demeter, Goddess Persephone, and God Hermes are all summer makers! When Demeter's daughter, Persephone was taken by Hades, Hermes was sent to retrieve her. Hermes is the messenger of the Gods so she felt he best to get down there and fix it. Hermes was a little late to the Underworld because by the time he got there she had already ate 6 pomegranate seeds. The half dozen seeds represented half of the calendar year we have come to know in our everyday lives. Now that Summer is back and in full swing these three have three cheers to ring in! Persephone is the Goddess of spring, flowers, and rebirth; Goddess Demeter as her mother is the Godess of nature, animals, and everything in between! God Hermes being of Fire, travel, and light. he may come in handy if you have a summer trip or bonfire planned. Your natural reliance though can be contributed to Mother Gia or Demeter. Goddess Demeter, Mother Gia, or Earth Mother are seen as the same deity in many religions.

Speaking of female Goddesses we must recognize the beauty and grace of Aphrodite. During the summer season many of us try and ‘Glow Up’ or enhance our daily routines. I myself do it with tanning and self tanning! The beauty of this Goddess though is that her power is so incredibly vast, you can tap into it when doing your ‘Glow Up’. She can assist with getting into your true wants and desires to manifest them during this summer time. Whether your sitting by the pool reading or sitting under a tanning bed (safely), you can use the quiet time to listen to yourself and your wants; then Aphrodite’s influence to manifest them to reality.

While you may find Hermes can keep the sun from overheating you, Poseidon is the one who will keep your water time safe and fun. I personally have enjoyed any water sport as a water sign. This definitely has some caveats but generally always a hit. I personally have a feeling of him closer to me through the rain, like summer storms. Although, you can feel his power at any body of water this summer though and use the energy for change! As the literal God of the element of fluidity he can also help you go with the flow. During the summer many of us can feel as if we are being pulled into a lot of directions, or Tennessee weather makes you reroute your plans. We also see a lot of protests take place during the summer. These will exhibit the same fluidity of change, in style and type. Organizers are now trying to focus more on community and less on instant change.

If those changes have you absolutely freaking out though Hermes the diplomatic God, according to Homer, may be able to assist in your communication skills. It can be hard to make plans and prioritize when the nice weather only lasts so long. Take a breather and do your best to make a plan of what YOU want to do. It is absolutely nice to include others, but tricky to not over prioritize it. Weather you have a PHD in communication or just need a bit of assistance on the new struggles this summer may present; these Gods and Dietes can guide even the blind to the best place to be spiritually. We hope you feel the power they give you wherever you go this summer.
